What is the DermaMedics Complexion Repair Acne Treatment System?

DermaMedics has developed a unique 4 product set of moisturizing formulations that take advantage of salicylic acid's efficacy in treating acne, but which prevent the skin drying that may occur with use of salicylic acid. This results in a rapid clearing of acne lesions. The Complexion Repair Acne Treatment System is designed to address all three causes of acne:

1.  Clogged pores

2.  The rapid growth of p.Acnes bacteria within the clogged pore

3.  Inflammation caused by the bacteria which results in swelling into a visible pimple

Unlike other acne treatment products which target either the bacteria (benzoyl peroxide based products) or the clogged pore (salicylic acid), Complexion Repair works deep within the skin and pores to address all three symptoms of acne without drying out the skin, damaging the skin's protective barrier, or causing redness. The result is radiant, moisturized, acne-free complexion.

 

How do I use the Acne Treatment System?

Foaming Cleanser - Appy 4-5 pumps of foam onto wet face. Gently spread the foam to completely cover the face and wait one minute before washing the cleanser off.

Pore Refining Toner - After washing face with Foaming Cleanser, apply Toner to cotton ball and rub it lightly around face. Product will tingle or sting on freshly-cleaned skin. Allow to air dry before applying Treatment Serum or Rehydrating Emulsion. For patients with acne but with dry skin, the Toner may be too drying to use. In that case, eliminate the use of the Toner.

Acne Treatment Serum - Most patients prefer to use this Serum as their morning treatment, since the Serum absorbs into the skin very quicly and leaves no greasy look to the skin. The product can be applied to the entire face, if desired, or simply applied to the problem areas. This is a strong product. It may tingle or sting when first applied.

Topical Rehydrating Emulsion - After washing face with the Foaming Cleanser and "revitalizing" with the Pore Refining Toner apply the Topical Rehydrating Emulsion to face in the evening to re-moisturize the skin. This is a strong product. It may tingle or sting when first applied.

 

Are there any concerns I should know about regarding the use of the Acne Treatment System?

There are no known concerns regarding the use of these products. As with any skin care product, you should avoid getting the products in your eyes. If irritation develops, discontinue use.

Acne Treatment Serum

The Acne Treatment Serum is a proprietary silicone based product containing 2% salicylic acid. This product has been clinically tested and works rapidly to clear acne by combating the three causes of acne. It does not dry out the skin, cause redness or irritation, or cause any sensitivity to the sun.

Rehydrating Topical Emulsion

To ensure that the skin is not being dried out by the use of salicylic acid, Compexion Repair Topical Rehydrating Emulsion should be used in the evening after washing the face with the Foaming Cleanser. Re-moisturizing the skin with the Rehydrating Emulsion will help prevent facial redness which often occurs with acne treatment products. In addition, the Therosol in the Rehydrating Topical Emulsion helps calm the skin and helps visibly reduce redness.

Foaming Cleanser

The Foaming Cleanser has been specifically formulated for acne-prone skin. To eliminate irritation and dryness, this cleanser contains no soap, and no lauryl or laureth sulfates. These detergents are commonly found in cleansers but are well-known to dry and irritate the skin. DermaMedics Foaming Cleanser is formulated with two gentle surfactants that clean deeply and thoroughly but without drying and irritating skin that is already irritated from acne. The cleanser also contains Therosol to calm the skin and reduce the appearance of redness. In addition the cleanser contains Triclosan, a well-known anti-bacterial and preservative ingredient.

Pore Refining Toner

The Pore Refining Toner is designed to pull excess oils from pores and to soothe and revitalize the skin. The toner does contain alcohol and is therefore not recommended for extremely dry skin. Witch hazel and Therosol provide antioxidants to the skin to help prevent the appearance of redness. The toner should be used after cleansing with the Foaming Cleanser and before applying the Acne Treatment Serum or Rehydrating Topical Emulsion. The toner contains salicylic acid, Therosol, and Witch hazel, a know anit-inflammatory, anti-microbial and astringent.
