What is the DermaMedics’ Calm & Correct Cream?

The Calm & Correct Cream is a light moisturizing formulation designed to soothe and visibly improve damaged skin. Calm & Correct Cream should be used in combination with the Calm & Correct Serum, for patients who require more moisturization than the serum provides. Calm & Correct Cream contains the Therosol®II complex, a mixture of two pure botanically derived ingredients, which have been shown, in laboratory research studies, to have both anti-inflammatory and anti-aging effects on skin cells. Calm & Correct Cream can be used to soothe a variety of inflammatory skin conditions. It is gentle enough that it can be used on skin that has been damaged by psoriasis, eczema, burns, rashes, laser re-surfacing procedures, strong chemical peels and dermabrasion.

 

How do I use Calm & Correct Cream?

After cleansing skin with the Foaming Facial Cleanser, apply product liberally to all affected areas. Calm & Correct Cream can be applied as often as necessary. If using in combination with Calm & Correct Serum, allow the serum to fully absorb in to the skin before applying the Calm & Correct Cream.

 

Are there any concerns I should know about regarding the use of Calm & Correct Cream?

No Sunscreen

Calm & Correct Cream does not contain any sunscreen. Therefore, if the product is going to be applied in the morning before going outside, we recommend that either a lightly moisturizing lotion with an SPF of 15 or makeup that contains a sunscreen be applied to any areas of skin that will be exposed to the sun. Allow the Calm & Correct Cream to completely absorb before applying the sunscreen.

If irritation develops, discontinue use.

Glycerin

This excellent humectant absorbs and retains moisture in the skin. It is extremely mild when applied topically, and can be used at high concentrations.

Therosol®

Therosol® is a proprietary and patent-pending ingredient discovered by DermaMedics’ scientists. Research studies have shown that Therosol® can increase collagen and elastin production in human skin cells. It has also been found to have potent anti-inflammatory effects on skin cells, blocking the production of a variety of inflammatory hormones that can inflame skin and erode the skin’s structural matrix.

Cetyl Palmitate

This emollient also acts as a skin conditioner, helping to restore weathered and damaged skin to its natural state.

PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate and PEG-100 Stearate

These non-irritating emulsifiers allow the oil and water phases of the lotion to mix evenly and form a stable emulsion. They are also emollients and moisturizers.

Stearic Acid

This naturally occurring 18 carbon fatty acid is found in vegetable oils. It is widely used in many cosmetic products as an emollient, emulsifier and lubricant. Because of its gentleness to the skin, it is used at concentrations up to 25%.
